If you look through a glass of water , whatever is behind it gets flipped and distorted according to the shape of the glass. If there is something behind the glass on the left usually you will see it inside the glass upside down and on the right. (just some helpful tips)

As much as i respect your photoshop skills - i have to correct you on this one.
The filled part of a glass works as a lense, to be precise, a rather cylindrical lense. As such they have a quite short focal length, which leads to the left-right switch, most of the times. But for being quite cylindrical, there is no top-bottom flip. For the glass you posted you'll get only some weird reflections/deformations at the bottom, where it turns to a ball lense again.
One further thing about the distortions. It depends on your distance to the glass, as the following pic shows:

this photographer was in such a distance, that the background can be pretty clearly seen as a smaller image. Distortions you only get on the sides of the glas due to so called spherical aberration.

don't worry... its all physics! Wink

Thanks Dunno for more precise tips on the distortion. I should have written "things will be either FLIPPED AND OR DISTORTED acording to the shape of the glass." I guess that is what I meant to say. The glass that I was looking at when I wrote that was a wine glass almost like this one. The backgound was close and it was flipped and upside down. You must be a Photographer ha?? Thanks for
explaining the lense thing. Smile Happy New Year to all. Very Happy

HA! ... its indeed all relative!

I just found that i fooled myself... the glass you posted seems to be round and big enough to flip things upside down (working as a ball lense though). Its like this:

and

So, it wasn't the wine which made you seeing this Smile

Anyway, it works only for the round bottom part and always depends on your angle of view, distance, bla bla bla...
I find it just extremely hard to 'predict' the actual image such a glass gives. I'll stick to nontransparent things Very Happy

What i wonder, nonetheless, what kind of red wine, where you can actually look through, do you guys have? Shocked

Happy New Year everybody!!!
