Hello all,

Signed up today...I'm a Land Surveying tech here in Texas, work for a local company. Several years ago an ex-coworker gave me Flash5 as a Christmas gift( he had gone to work for Macromedia) He had pity on me as I was doing images with MS Paint and MS Photo Express. Embarassed I now use Flash5 and Photofilter. Someday I hope to obtain Photoshop or some other advanced image software. Until then I'll be on the learning curve Smile This is a great site and you guys are some bunch of talented folks.

Hey Quintin,

Welcome aboard! If you are looking for a decent image manipulation software (that's FREE!) I'd suggest checking out the GIMP. It's got alot of features that Photoshop offers and if you're familiar at all with Photoshop/Paintshop Pro the learning curve is not too bad.

Here's the site if you're interested: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Good Luck, this is a fun place to learn take adavantage of it!

Thanks for the suggestion...have thought about getting the GIMP, read some good comments about it...may do so after I upgrade my PC...I have about 200 images on my comp and no CD burner or zip drive...the thought of my system crashing is scary...already had two computers burndown on me...last time around lost a number of image and other files Evil or Very Mad

Worked for a Dan Dowdey at Threadgill & Dowedy...early 70s Dallas...might be the same guy...

Did I understand the FAQ...have to post 10 images before I can vote? Not complaining, just not sure...

holy crap! What a brilliant idea! I mean, considering how many old people are here using this site and photoshop, I'd make a killing! I think I'll try and market that, a walker with a built in pc... Laughing
