Buddy was born with the percussion gene.He must have given his mom indigestion and palpitations while still in the womb.Utterly superb.Very few drummers can even compare to Buddy. The best IMHO.And this solo is *!* x 10.Thanks for sharing bc.

Check out Tomatito and his discography http://www.tomatito.com/
This guy is hot.He was "Camarón de la Isla's" (arguably the best flamenco singer ever) main guitar player for years before Camaron's untimely death 1992. http://www.camarondelaisla.org/index-english.htm.
Tomatito plays flamenco (and was a pioneer of the Nuevo flamenco of the 70's along with Paco de Lucia),however he has explored other facets of the spanish guitar and freely fussions flamenco with jazz (latin jazz) and classical as well. Here are a couple of excerpts from his bio...In 2000,the album Spain, a compilation of TOMATITO’s work with Michel Camilo was released. It won a Latin Grammy for best Latin-Jazz recording. Together they played Carnegie Hall during the New York JVC Jazz Festival and went on to do a stint at the prestigious Blue Note Jazz Clubs in New York, Tokyo and Osaka. TOMATITO also collected another Grammy for best flamenco recording for the live album Paris 1987 on which he played for Camarón de la Isla.... 2005 began for TOMATITO with a sell-out concert at Carnegie Hall, New York in the company of the legendary Cantaor Enrique Morente. The AGUADULCE tour continued with performances at Barcelona’s Guitar Festival, Nuits de la Guitare de Patrimonio and the Antwerp Rivierenhof. His first visit to Denmark for a concert at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art was followed by his return to London, this time at the Barbican Centre and then the North Sea Jazz festival’s last edition at The Hague. He was especially honoured to participate in the Peace Festival 2005 – Beyond DMZ in Korea in August 2005....
I hope this helps in your quest, chicken.
I will check these out...thanks!

I bought the new Arcade Fire last week another masterpiece, nothing less!
This is my favorite band. They are amazing!
They have fans like David Bowie (he has been spotted at many of their early gigs), David Byrne, Björk ... Coldplay's Chris Martin called them "the greatest band in history".
But I'm just not able to find a ticket for one of their shows. Last time it was soldout in 12 minutes. They are coming in May.
There's no official video from this CD right now but here is a live performance...

That's the Terry Bozzio of Missing Persons?....Canadian right?
Yeah he's real fast but I guess I prefer Buddy Rich's style.
Joe Morello : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnLwj66ERws(of which I noticed a link to also on one of the Terry Bozzio solo pages....heh) was pretty damn good too, eh?

Yes! Terry Bozzio played in Missing Persons. I Think it's an American band. Bozzio is from California. He also played with Frank Zappa & UK.
Yeah! Morello... interesting!
Never heard about Clinic. Sounds good, nice video. Different!
Here's something completely different... when I'm going Japan, I'm always trying to find good music. But it's really tough to find something on internet. I love Susumu Yokota, Buffalo Daughter, Cornelius etc... so a nice video from Cornelius...

Yes...Cornelius....another really talented one. I really like his(97's) Fantasma album
....a real treat for the ears. Here's one from it : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMtvUmSG8IE
For some reason, when you mentioned Cornelius, it made me think of a rather unrelated artist called Akufen (Mark Leclair), from Montreal I believe. Maby it was that more recent Cornelius song (the YouTube link) and it's chopped up sound...hmm...anyway this is a great album, that is, if you like(minimal) house music. He's a "micro-sampler"...ie, tiny bits of sound(in his case, mostly radio samples) put together to form what you hear. One of my fave albums of that genre, but hard to find.
Susumu Yokota is one of my favorites
I'm not so jazzed about his last album, Wonder Waltz, but it may grow on me eventually. Grinning Cat, Symbol and Sakura I feel are his best work that I've heard.

Haaa! Yes! I have that Cornelius CD too. I dont know his other albums.
Yup! Akufen is from Montréal. Nice music, creative, nice CD. He recently made a CD... he called it "musique pour 3 femmes enceintes". It means "music for 3 pregnant women".

I think Sakura is the best of Yokota. But he made a lot of other good stuff.

I saw Buddy Rich at a Holiday Inn back @ 1980, and he was everything a drummer could be, his band was scared shitless, he would start a song, and all the guys would scramble for their music as fast as they could, he said he would mention us the next night on Johnny Carson, and sure enough he said he played in Miami the night before,...but we were in Lauderdale

check out Neil Peart doing Buddy, he even looks like him, you can tell Neil learned a lot from him
OK, let me find something, I was listening to some of Joseph Arthur's work, and I think that if you don't know who he is yet, you will.
