About the groove, you can see here where he probably took his inspiration, from 70s old funky Herbie Hancock...

A new video from the Japanese band Buffalo Daughter. Their last album "Euphorica" is a nice blend of pop, rock, funk & kitch. PEACE like you said Paul!

Welcome back, dude!

Yeah, Beck is an extremely talented guy, aint he? His influences are really diverse. I like Odelay , about the best .
Some great influences on that album ie. (Van Morrison's) Them and The Troggs(to name a couple). If you've ever heard "I Can Only Give You Everything" Very Happy Very Happy( The Troggs) , you'll immediately recognize that guitar rif when you listen to "Devil's Haircut". Great and effective use of a simple rif.

...and speak'n of The Troggs ........Here's a couple of theirs that ya never hear, cause they're always play'n that damn overplayed, and extremely annoying "Wild Th.....see I cant even say it, I'm so damn sick of it. Yuck
It's strange that their most popular song is actaully(IMO) their worst.

See....The Troggs actually do have some really good songs.

Yes....Herbie Hancock is one of my faves, especially with "Headhunters" Cool Very Happy Very Happy

Awesome song!
I saw them play when they reformed for their "Return of the Headhunters" album/tour. Wow...what a great show that was!

OH YES!! Cool

The Cinematic Orchestra is a great band. I saw them live 4 years ago at Montreal Jazz Festival, playing their Every Day album. Very nice show. One of the best "new jazz" stuff!

I dont listen a lot of jazz anymore ( a lot less than in the 70s & 80s) but there's really great innovative artists & bands, especially from Norway...

Bugge Wesseltoft (impossible to find a video & tough to find what I'm searching for... anyway!!)...
http://www.buggesroom.com/pub/downloads/files/01somewhereinbetween.mp3
http://www.buggesroom.com/pub/downloads/files/1-05comeonbuddy-yougotgreenlight.mp3

Wibutee...
Lot of stuff to listen to here.
To listen the best of Wibutee, click on "click here for the sternklang remix..." + "listening to albums..." + "Eight Domestic Challenges", their best album IMO.
Also, the "Gitlat" video is interesting...

Nils Petter Molvaer...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b84qlPD5jcA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9HNQn5b2-o&mode=related&search=

Audun Kleive...
Nothing on the web, no live video, no web site... only a "myspace.com" page ( Exclamation Question ) ... anyway the 2 tracks on his page are interesting. I consider his music kinda "new free jazz" with a nice funky touch...

O.K. That's enough for now! Very Happy
