I cannot re-iterate enough that this site is not intended to be a strict competition site. It is to be a learning envronment and community first, and competition second. We have been through a few different voting systems and this one has been the most productive for the majority of the users of this site.

That was in May 2005, back when there were just about as many users as there are now. Maybe that's still the case, but I would also imagine a lot's changed since last month. And everyone realizes this isn't a strict competition site; no one said to change the voting so they could win, win, win. It's more about making the experience fair and fun, regardless of whether it's an actual contest. However, I do find it strange that a site called Photoshopcontest.com, wherein people vote on your pictures, states that it's not about competition...c'mon, admit it is at least a little bit.
