I think if memory serves me correct the term was created on this very site all them years way way back in the day...if one of the founding members can check that, but Im sure it started here at PSC

Yep it was used in an interview way back when and the term was used as Photochopping...will ask one of the longer term members than me to validate that story but....

I thought it came about on PSC when Adobe started bitching about people referring to image manipulations as "photoshopping". They posted a bit about the proper use of their trademark and a PSC forebearer came up with "chopped/chop" as an alternative phrase?

I could be wrong (again).

Yup - the "cut up and put back together" theory is correct.

And "chop" does rhyme with "shop", so if anyone was ever silly enough to write a song about CHOPPING, they would have less trouble with the lyrics.

Okay - now someone can explain STFUAC to our new friend!
