First, Hello Tony! Wink

Second, Gran, the CMOS feature is what really interests me. I was reading an article on Nikon/Canon Crowned sent me (thanks by the way Crowned), and it says CCD and CMOS are not very different, what I quite disagree, though I may be wrong.

Marco, don't need the cam to cook my breakfest. Wink

and thanks Thierry for the insight. I guess I'll go for the Canon anyway, by the end of the month.

Marx... I'll simply ignore yer comment. cheers

Now, where's that canadian beaver-licker??????

yeh... Early CMOS sensors were shit.
Now the best quality CMOS sensors are excellent.

Generally speaking..CCD's are better than CMOS... but the Canon SLR's use other types of image processing to reduce noise and improve quality.

I still recommoned you at least have a look at the Pentax K100D... here's a review http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentaxk100d/

It MIGHT suite your requirements and save you a lot of money.

I had a previous bad experience with Sony's CCD. So I won't buy a Sony anymore. Not for cams, at least. Now, my Sony home theater, no complains. But for cams, no way I'll get a Sony again.

Here's mine: Nikon 8700

I like it, but I'd probably buy a different camera if I had a chance to do it over. For the price, this was a great buy, but I should have spent a few extra bucks to get something a tad nicer.

I'd probably still recommend it, but not for pros.
