Go to Layers and use the sliders in New Adjustment Layer- (Color and Hue & Saturation) are the ones to play with.
Or use the color replacement tool that you'll find in the 'Brushes' palette.
Check out photoshop's own help page just click on help and scroll down to 'Working with colors'

Have Fun! Wink

Howdy -

Once you get this you go D'OH! as it is really easy.

Lemme help! Very Happy

1) select the colour bits you want to change

(use SELECTION=>COLOR RANGE, it is a good thing for stuff like cars and objects with solid colours)

2) use the Hue Saturation thang (IMAGE=>ADJUSTMENTS=>Hue Saturation), using the hue slider you can dial up whatever colour you want.

Smile

The example below took me (literally) less than a minute to do (the pros here will probably notice that Razz)

If you want different bits in different colours, just mask off one section of the object and use a separate colour shift for each section.

If you want REAL control, learn to use the Adjustment Layers (that little button at the bottom of the LAYERS pallette that looks like a bad Yin-Yang symbol Wink )... they allow you to totally control colours and the shift is NOT permanent and you can change and update it at any time.

Don't give up so easy, dude! Razz

Spend at least 1/2 an hour getting to figure out the Color Range thang... it is well worth it.

Bring the fuzzyness way down (maybe 40% or so) and then use those eyedroppers on the right side to click on parts of the image you want to add to the selection (the + eyedropper) or colors you don't want selected (the - eyedropper tool).

Once you've got it close, use the FUZZYNESS slider (which should have been called the "do you want even more or less of those colors involved?" slider) until the viewing windows shows you the best you can get from your selection.

You'll get it... but only if you have patience. If you lack patience, go find some. Or the only other option is to give up on Photoshop. Wink It is one DEEP-ARSE MUTHA of a piece of software and will give you SO much if you take time to learn it. Otherwise it is a pathway to dispair, itchyness, and drinking too much crappy American beer! Cool

Another way to select stuff is with the Pen Tool. (tutorial HERE http://photoshopcontest.com/tutorials/16/cutting-up.html) It allows for super-precise selections - but you need HEAP BIG PATIENCE for learning this tool. But it will be worth a MAJOR PORTION of your Photoshop powers if you learn it even 1/2 assed.

But again, for cars, clothing, and stuff with fairly big solid colours the Select Range will be a good friend to you. Smile

That will keep you IN THE GAME! Very Happy

(and if you are still stuck 24 hours from now, and you come back here and ask for more clarification, you'll find that people are even more willing to help you out if they know you gave it your best shot first!)

END OF "old dude" LESSON!

GO HAVE A BEER AND ENJOY THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool salut
