Ever heard of these people? Ever tried their stuff? They claim a version suitable for Linux/windows simultaneously on two monitors.

I'm starting to get excited. Anything is better than crossover. What I wouldn't do to see CS3 and all the wonderful tools.

Yo, Dog!

That there might LOOK like a PC beside my MAC, but that monitor on the left is hooked INTO the MAC on the right.

I've used Parallels for a year and a half now... it has been very good to me (as far as anything that might have WinDoze on it can be good Wink ).

I use very few programs on it now (mostly just SoundForge) as I slowly replace all my "PC-Only" programs with MAC-happy apps. Also, when I was being a WebMeister full time it was nice to test my website designs on (shudder) Internet Explorer.

So, if you GOTTA use a PC at times AND you wanna have a MAC, this way can work very well for you.

ReinMan, you're a natural born, thread killer. Laughing

J: I'm sorry to hear that you don't like Crossover and the whole Wine solution on the Mac side. I purchased the latest version a few weeks ago, (I haven't installed it yet) but was really looking forward to running some data base apps without any problems. What specific apps were you having trouble with using Crossover?

ReinMan, I'm glad you're a happy Mac Convert. You should have been around for the dark days of Mac ownership throughout the '90s. Those were fun times to tout one's preferred OS religion.

Shocked

Well, like I tell my friends: a beat up old Ford Escort will get you from Portland to Seattle. (or even Regina to Medicine Hat)... and a BMW 300 series will do the same thing. But one will offer up a much nicer ride for the journey! Wink

Having driven a Ford Escort most of my computer-life, I'm now appreciating the BMW, so to speak.

The Mac OS is a sweet ride, isn't it?

And there's more to come. A very good friend who works at Adobe specifically on the Mac OS, told me we ain't seen nothing yet !

.. And I believe him.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I've got about $100 bucks worth of PS7 at my disposal. I can copy/paste, Paint, Erase, Smudge and Lasso. That's it. It won't do curves without crashing. It will do gradients about half the time. Most of the labels and text information will not 'mouse over'. I have trouble with most of the filters I have tried. I could go on...

It's a shame that gimp sucks because it is absolutely stable on my absolutely stable debian/linux os. The only weak link is wine/crossover/PS7.

Then stuff like this happens!
