Hello !

There are times when I wish to have dropped shadows in different directions.
Rolling Eyes I can't do it !
It matters not whether I lock layers, when I apply shadows on one layer, all the other layers where I have used this tool are affected... and my shadows all go on the same direction.... Sad
Is there a clever way out of this ?
I'm using SC2.
Thanks ! Smile

cut the shadow to a seperate layer, it can be done.

Separating Layer Effects to Their Own Layer
Have you ever wanted to have a little more control over the things you can do to your drop shadows? In today's Photoshop tutorial, Geoff Riggs will show you how to send layer effects to their own layers so that you can deal with them separately from the objects that the effects are associated with.

(Ooo - didn't know that either re own layers...)

Another way is to select your object, create a new layer, paste black into the selection, blur as required and move as required...put layer in right place, change opacity/layer effects e.g. multiply etc. as required...

listen to these guys!

uncheck the box that says global light if you HAVE to use drop shadows.

but most times a drop shadow = ass

if you really want it to look good, create your own shadows!!!
heres a good tutorial.

install IRFANVIEW + plugins to see the tutorials, i had to install it on the girlfriends computer

http://www.irfanview.com/

for some reason .swf files wont play on some machines without the actual adobe flash program installed, anyone got the answer to that???
IRFANVIEW overcomes that problem, it's free and is good for other things too.
