Nice shot DP! 
Couple years ago I was on a 3-day canoe trip with the Church Young Mens group. I had one of the new boys in my canoe and we were bringing up the rear of the armada. All the others seemed to be in a race to get through the river. Anyway Justin and I were at the back of the pack and a bald eagle swooped down and took a bass out of the river about 10 yards from our canoe. Everyone else heard the splash and saw the eagle flying off with it's prize but Justin and I were the only ones who got to see it happen. I learned that day that rushing through life can cause you to miss a lot of cool stuff.

I've learned to watch the trees by my house and I caught him sitting there...and waited...and waited...and waited...and waited...and I thought the damned thing would NEVER take off.

Camera would NOT have survived that trip. Eighteen young men aging from 12 to 18 with most being intent on tipping their leaders canoes.
Funny thing is we took a Garmin GPS with us. I have a vacuum sealer for food so we made a bag for it so that it would be waterproofed. Sealed off an inflated end, put in the GPS and sucked the air out, sealed the end and then made another inflated bubble on the other end. Instant floatation device for the location device.
Using the GPS we were able to determine how fast we could get the canoe going.
