When viewing entries, how many of you take the time to go big?

What I'd really like to see is what the ratio is of people using the feature to not using it.

IF we aren't using this feature, maybe we should get rid of it? Going back to having entries submitted at a standard size of 550 x 450. Maybe this will cut some of the quality issues people have when their entries are downsized due to them being 1280 x 960.

We can leave advantage downloads at the higher size and resolution, and just make all submission entries at a 100% viewing size.

I'd really like to hear all of your opinions.

My take, 9/10 I view the larger file.
I feel if the entry was meant for larger viewing, I should take the extra 5 seconds to click the larger version.

I'm lazy. I only check big if I wanna see more detail of what the chopper did.

I go big with everyone, like you say Sean, it takes a second. And I am sure many do not go big. As so many times an entry that probably should be higher then gets a load of comments after closing of the likes:

'Oh I did not see this'

or

'wow just clicked big, this is good'

etc.

I am for it returning to the original PSC view only, no ability to click the images big, as it is a lottery if people bother. Then others suffer in regards after laying hours down in the work they do for this place.

700x 700 works for the H2H and thats done as a max to level the playing field and everyone sees the images as they are intended.

So why not for the daily comps.

S lot keeps getting said on this and other matters, but nothing seems to change, some may argue it is a step backwards. I say it is a step to times where the site was more equal. Fun also, free from complaints and bitching about things that were not clicked big, or viewed right etc.

It needs sorting out for sure.

I'd be for a 700x700 max like the H2H.

& we could still have over sized sources for our advantaged people to start with.

I go big all the time because I was born like that. Hung like a st...........
what? Shocked ....(wife explains to him what the thread is about) Embarassed Oh.heh heh.
I like the large view. Sometimes I create details like little hidden threads or secret details that can only be seen when you view it large,
I also like to see the textures like in Micose's images. I'm sure he worked hard to get that effect and would like people to see it.
That being said, you usually can tell weather to look any closer by the thumbnail. Wink

Shocked
Oh no.. That is a whole different topic all together.

How can you get anything from the thumbnail? esp if it has a lot going on or is a dark image...

anyone who cruises through the comps and picks out random ones by just thumbnail needs a slap, that takes the piss out of the process and all the work people put in here.

I realise some are incredibly busy and have not got the time to see all, click big on all, but my policy on that is if ~I have not got the time to look at all, then I wont look at any.
