Wow!

When i posted this original thread "Talent and Music"...i knew most of you would feel what i felt when i watched the music collaboration. But to see just how many people and pages of responses have resulted...really speaks to the heart of who we are.

A community of people with common values. Weather it be photoshop, music, art..etc. We all enjoy coming together to produce something that is larger and more meaningful than we could do alone.

Lets see if we can bring these ideas together and make something meaningful...or at least attempt something meaningful.

THanks Mikey. Very Happy I wasn't even sure if anyone even bothered downloading them and gave them a listen. It had been two days pretty much without any response. I felt somewhat abandoned. (insert violins here Rolling Eyes Laughing) Appreciate you getting back to me. Have fun!

Perhaps you need a better collaboration tool for the job
I googled "collaborate music online" and the first one that popped was www.kompoz.com - it seems to fit the bill, might be worth a try

Good job on that Mikey! Very Happy

Okay - so Mike brought up a couple good points in a PM to me when we were working out his LinkChallenge... I thought I'd address it here in case anyone else is interested...

A) MIDI files only carry music DATA. It does NOT carry any actual AUDIO sounds. In other words, it basically remembers what notes I've pushed and how hard I hit the keys and how long I held the key down, but in itself has NO sonic value. So to play a MIDI file you need a device that reads those notes and translates them into signals that THEN go into a SOUND MODULE or SYNTHESIZER THANG... that is when the "music" comes out. If you have a quicktime player you can actually download that MIDI file I posted a ways back here and run it with Quicktime. You here the drums (generated from Quicktime sound files) and you'll here the bass and the chords all played by a PIANO. That is because Quicktime doesn't realize I've used a BASS sound at my end, and it CERTAINLY won't produce an ACCORDION sound Wink ! So: MIDI files are for those of you who have the system and gear to utilize it. All others: AVOID THIS IF POSSIBLE! Shocked

B) Mikey did some nice slide guitar work there and some back up vocals, but I realize that my "supplied MP3 file" has too much stuff on it. I did supply a drums and bass track MP3 too, but that won't help if you are a BASS player and want to put in your own track. SO: Since Mikey has me interested again in this wee project, Wink I'll offer up this to anyone who wants to give this a go:
PM me and request what "version" of this song you want me to create. I can give you any combination of Drums only, Bass only, Accordion only, Organ only (no jokes please, Nancers Razz), Main vocals only, or BackUP vocals only. Of course I can also give you any COMBINATION of these. (eg: Drums, Accordion, BU vocals mixed together). This would allow you to build up the tracks as you want. Let me know if this interests any of you! reindeer

Here are three mix-variations folks can play with if they like...

1) ReinVocals / Bass / Drums only (no rhythm chords or backup vocals)

http://zydeholics.com/MP3s/1-No_Rhythm.mp3

2) Rhythm Chords / Bass / Drums / BU vox (no main vocal)

http://zydeholics.com/MP3s/2-No_ReinVocals.mp3

3) Rhythm Chords / Drums / BU vox (no bass or main vocals)

http://zydeholics.com/MP3s/3-No_Bass.mp3

Also: here again is the PDF link for the basic Lyrics and the song chords.
