Hi

I recently started to learn Flash because I'm offering webdesign and graphic design and flash seems the best way to combine them eventually.
My skills in Flash are beginners-level, however, I do seek out to see the better websites to see how they combined graphic design and Flash animation together and that's why I wanted to share this one:

http://www.2advanced.com

Once you entered and want to explore their graphic backgrounds, it's really worth it to click on 'expand navigation arrey' which is located under 'home - contact - language.
You get 5 items from the dropdown menu with different colors and each topic will display a different background/theme.

For those who haven't seen this site yet, enjoy Cool

Hi Kinetic!

Well, I found this thread sad and lonely in the "unanswered" link and thought i'd check it out.

The site you linked to has all that I LOVE about the web and all that I Less Than Love.

It looks WONDERFUL, and I got lost in about 10 seconds.

Smile

(but then I'm OLD, as TJ sez Very Happy)

What is AJAX exactly?
I only know Ajax (soccer-team) and AJAX (Othello/Reversi Program I sometimes use to practice with)

i think db, arc or gref would be better of explaining AJAX, basicly it takes flash and action script to the next level

Ah ok.
Well, that'll be for in a while then, because I'm now at learing how to use the time-line and motion-tweens.
Good thing is: I can import my PSD-layers into Flash and animate them! Love it Very Happy

Example:

(tell me what you think) Smile

ajax: Asynchronous Javascript And XML

simply said it's doing request to a server and handling the response witout reloading a web page fully

simple example: nowadays you'll find websites where you enter a search term for example, while your typing a request is made to the site's server to search for the terms that start with what you've allready typed. the response is a list of those. the web page shows you these results while you're still typing. And this without reloading the page (which wasn't possible before ajax)

Another example is the psc chat (wich only reloads the messages, and not all the stuff at top and bottom of the page)

That's basically it, and can be applied to more complex stuff offcourse Smile. But the fact that pages don't have to be reloaded each time you change something is a world of difference

Yes, let's kill the bastard Twisted Evil
I suggest you take a long cable, attach it to your car next time you drive from Mechelen to Turnhout and don't forget to make extra speed at the bumpy roads and steer strong in every turn. And if anything is left from the Dell when you arrive, we can toss it on the concrete to see who has the best 'swing' Twisted Evil
