The child was a Mexican brought into the US for treatment, I read.
There are other deaths, but not yet confirmed.

If everyone in America and Europe tries to get a shot against this new flu, there will not be enough of the immunisation jabs left in the world for those that realy need it, the people in countries that have bad living conditions and great poverty. So that's not an option.
My guess is, if the normal flu last winter did not kill you, you are healthy enough to survive this new flu.

how about some prayers for the pigs in Egypt... imagine the sqeals
"The Egyptian government began slaughtering pigs today as a preventative measure to stop the spread of the swine flu, reports the AP. Over 300,000 pigs will be killed immediately despite no reported cases of the pandemic in the country. "
it might be time to stock up on some inexpesive pork,

Of course you won't get this strain of swine flu, Arc. As I said, there are no reported cases of it IN swine.
Just kidding, of course!
Seriously though, stay well, my friends everywhere!

As I understand it, in 1918 the pandemic came in three distinct waves. The first wave started in April and then subsided into a lull, with few if any new cases through the summer months giving those at that time a false sense of security. Then in August, the second wave of infections hit and was much more severe than the first, leaving hundreds dead.
This particular pandemic may have its own pattern or may follow a pattern similar to that of 1918.

Yeah I heard that this morning... what a horrible and dumb thing to do! idiots! this isn't mad pig! not a pig to pig thing! they'll get rid of all the innocent little piggies and you know they'll still get swine flu! god will get them for that!
I am the LORD: behold, I will strike the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood.
and then the idiots say closing the borders won't help because "the horses are already out of the barn"... I got news for them. there are a hell of lot more horses in that barn then they think.
like you can only get it from the one person that went thru mexico to get the flu. NO! you can get it from several people (with swine flu). yeah there's only 1 person traveling around infecting people... duh! but I'm not surprised considering Napotano is in charge! she didn't help border problems much before -- when I heard she was put in charge of security - oh brother!

I been trying to get swine flu for days now so I can call sick for work, I mean seriously I don't take any precautions at all... I don't cover my mouth, I usually try to be next to sick people and I even went to the near farm to have a pig cough on my face. This is bullshit.
