Had a thought pop into my head. What if we had another category in the galleries for number of times a chops been faved?

Doesn't show who has faved the chop just how many times a chop has been faved by members. Kind of a stat thing but it might get people to not only use the favorites feature but also get visitors to see some of the community's best stuff.

Just an idea. Feel free to pick it apart for flaws. This is the brainstorm part of the process after all. Wink

I like the idea. Would be nice if we could see who faved it too.

As per YerPalAl's additional thought, I think JMH was asked about being able to see who has fav'd which chops and his concern was somewhere between "stalkers" and "voting buddy circles." Question

I think it would be easy enough for a gallery of Favorited images to be put up... but the Gran-Gref exchange brings up a very valid point: a LOT of work is being done on PSC right now. I've noticed several little changes very recently. My favorite so far is that the 7:40ish AM slow-down for refreshing all the stats doesn't seem to virtually shut the site down any more. Please take a look around. Anything that used to bother you, try again. Maybe it's fixed? I would personally like for the long laundry-list to continue getting sorted and cleaned before I ask for more site-changes.

I think new ideas like these are great. I just wanted to put in my 2¢ about what work is already being done. I have no access nor inside knowledge of what's really going on behind the scenes, but I see enough evidence that the guys behind the curtain are VERY busy. And there have been rumors from some very good sources (TutorMe and Gref) that there are some major changes and upgrades in the works. Very Happy

cheers cheers cheers Three Cheers for our Coders! cheers cheers cheers Okay, SIX!

Grefix has already coded the favorites gallery. It just needs the go-ahead from Proc.

Speaking of coding. Grefix, supa and TutorMe deserve some MAJOR kudos for their work behind the scenes. Keep in mind that they're doing this for free too.

The morning slow-down was solved by Grefix a little while back. He optimized the algorithm and even spotted other areas that needed addressing while doing it.

And you're right Caffy... there is a TON of work being done behind the scenes right now. I believe the mods and Proc are looking at site design, the three previously mentioned code studs are fixing problems and other things are being done too I'm sure (like Blurker's mention of the upcoming scav hunt).

PSC may have gone through a mood swing but it's going back up baby! cheers
