If so, this will be of interest.

And for you kids, this is some of what you missed out on.

That's where I found it too, Wiz. I have a loop at home I think I'll photograph and send to them.

Wow! I just spent an hour on that page. I'm not as old as you Al, but I vividly remember;

Skum-X (and those pillows full of powdered rubber)
Drawing machines
French curves
Rapidograph pens (weren't they a bastard to clean/maintain)
Pantone markers
Felt stumps
Set squares (remember having to have a strip of cellotape under to keep the square off the paper for ink work?)
Flexi curves
Iwata airbrushes
Lettering guides etc

I still have quite a collection of this sort of stuff too. I even found one of those Argus Slide Viewers a couple of months back when I was cleaning out my Dad's stuff.

Thanks for that!

Wow, those take me back!
I've only used ~1/2 of those tools, since I was really just an amateur illustrator. My dad was a pro (first art editor of LOOK magazine) and used them all.

I don't see a curved scalpel: very useful for shaving off an india ink line from hard illustrator card stock.

Pretty fun to think about "the good old day"

I know what you guys mean, though, I still work out percentages on a reduction wheel and I have my Pantone color chip book. lol

This was my Visualizer's messy toolbox when I first started in the BBDO Advertising Bullpen back in 1961.
God I hated those damn pastels mucking up my shirts everyday!

And yes that's how we drew layouts back then, wish I kept a few to remember how bad they were! Laughing
