Using only the top two pictures as source, I came up with the picture below,
I feel that its missing something or that it could be a lot better, can someone
here, either improve it? or take the 2 source pictures and rebuild from scratch,
originally I was thinking of using the bug, split in half as the eye lids, but it wasn't
easy, at least for me, this could be interesting to see how diffferent they turn out,
I would like to see what Rey or Anfa would do here... scratch
Good luck, it was not easy Confused

I always thought it would be cool to have a contest where everyone has the exact same task like this and see the variations that occur, wouldn't you agree? Smile

Your ant source looks like a lame chop. Where'd it come from?

besides a few others here, Rey and Anfa usually add those little things that make a big difference in a chop, thats what the hope of this thread is, I want to see something that makes me smack my forehead, like those gamefly dudes Laughing

there are lot of things that can be improved.

a lot of the of the ants are quite roughly edited ..although you did a great job really, they are a total nightmare.

One easy thing to fix is the eye. You removed some reflection which left it looking flat and dead.

I just overlayed a few bits of tree canopy to bring it back to life again.

You removed the eye lashes so the reflections made no sense. (they had shadows of the eyelashes in them.) So Eye redrew some lashes.
I made it a bit bloodier. (more veins)
Added tears. Added an ant crawling behind the eye. (ewwww)
Added shadows from the ants heads.
Not perfect but scarier. (I think)
The eyelashes are done badly, but you get the idea.

Thanks Rey & Andy, Smile the ant crawling under the lid is cool, these are the subtle changes I was talking about, there are a few ants on my chop that maybe are not crisp enough, adding a tear is a great idea, as for the original ant picture, I think its real too, (how you can say its a lame chop is beyond me), anyone else want to take a stab at it? Very Happy or do you have a picture to post for this exercise, I was hoping this thread would show the importance of small details that are usually overlooked, and can make a picture a winner, thanks again. Wink
