As suggested by Supak0ma, the burning couch, Claf and Granulated I've lowered the opacity of the shadow, lowered his feet into the surf, moved him back into the middle of the picture (which I don't know why I put him that far to the right to begin with!) and adjusted the shadow shape. And as suggested by TJ (aka Todd) Put a splash on the end of the surf board! Thanks for the critiques guys! It really does spruce up the image!
And by the way thanks to everyone for the votes. It means a lot to be acknowledged by ones piers!

First, apologies CC. I never took the time to see that this was your very first win, so a hearty CONGRATULATIONS!! I know this must feel really good.
Now, the revision looks very good and has taken your winning entry to a higher level.
Very well done.
Keep up the good work.

I totally agree with the shadow, that was a point I would have raised too. But now I have a question about the water at the end of the surfboard. The power of the waterflow would not allow for a spree that high, I think. (but I am not a aqua flow technician - it is just a feeling, looking at the rest of the waves that are flowing out into the ocean, thus having less power then the ones comming in).
In my opinion they should only reach as far as the green colour just above the water, not over the top of the board. That would be acceptable.
That said - Congratulations on your first win.

Guess it was my mistake about it being your first win, I can see now that the site has updated your profile, but congrats anyway.
And the edit does look way better. Now it rocks hard.

OK FINE SECOND WIN
Yes you can update an entry after the contest is over.
BUT Its up to you... Do you want people to see what originally won in the winners gallery? OR what it would have looked like w/all the suggestions implemented.
BTW IMPO, had you done the update before the contest was over... yer entry would have won by a mile, instead of by only a few votes
