when i'm first put my entry. . . i already got votes from you people. i don't think the senior user just votes their friends.

i do like to become an advantage user but i don't have credit card ! and i can't make one. our law states that students are not allowed to own it. sigh

good idea Rey. Something needs to be done. Lack of entries, lack of voting, lack of excitement. I say just make December exciting and give everyone the month of December and see how the numbers compare.

I think that the problem exists with the present membership not newbies. We have to motivate the present membership to increase entries, increase the voting and rev up the excitement level and the newbies will come. Kind of a chop of dreams.

See...that's what I was think'n.

When I started here there were ALOT more seasoned members in play on a more regular basis...so I think when a newbie comes to the site and sees that..yeah it can be a bit intimidating at first (was for me).. but it will also give him/her more incentive to get better...or at least that's how I was about it when I was a newbie. I wanted to work up to the 10....yay , I can vote! I think peoples reactions to getting fewer (non advantaged) votes in the beginning can be a foretelling of their future status at this site..ie Are you gonna "nut up or shut up"? (Tallahassee:Zombieland) I hope I didnt go off topic, there Hmmm *!*

we could have a special contest where the best not advantage (without necessarily winning the contest) wins a free week of advantage.

I believe this has been done in the past. Seemed to have worked.

I like the idea of hooking in some of the new folks by giving a taste of advantage. However I also agree that the number of entries needs to be brought up.

I'd enter more often but by the time I get home from work I have no desire to go on my computer. And I'm not a government employee anymore so I don't have time to chop throughout the day at work. Laughing

It basically sums up my thoughts and situation too.

Besides... why do you want more competition Rey? Don't you like winning money and prizes? Laughing Wink

Apparently newbies CAN win without advantage, it happens more often these days than in the glorious past. Recent non-advantage wins:

I was wrong on this one, at the time it was a proper advantaged win

The Winter Road contest had 1st and 2nd place taken by non-advantage members.

We had a few promising non-advantage members rewarded with free advantage (acemanoj and Ritzoo come to mind), now they're gone.

the guy who won the one and only IPod also disappeared...
hmmm, I'm seeing a trend here.

Lots of newbies have been gifted Advantage, sir.

I brought back Persuader and dumbat but once their Advantage stopped, so did they. Sad

The original thought was "giving" newbies one week free Advantage. I'm pointing out that many newbies have been given Advantage from other members. Whether they win or not is up to them...having a mad idea and good execution -- both of which I find lacking lately.
