I wonder if anyone can advice the best way to reduce redness in faces and whites of eyes.
Here is one example,


I've purposally blurred bcgrd & suurounding area to put more emphasis on subjects but as you can see the redness is spoiling the overall effect . I've tried messing with color balance and curves but make it worse
Also reducing wrinkles

I'd use adjustment layer masks. Gimme a minute.

Okay here's a rough, quite imperfect, quickie. I can send you the PSD if you want to see what I did. Oops I forgot the eyes. Gimme 'nother minute.


Now with white eyes.

As with any "fix" in Photoshop, there are lots of different ways to acheive it based on your level of expertise. I always try simple things first.

I would duplicate the layer.
On the duplicate go to Image>adjustments>hue/saturation and lower the saturation.
Add a layer mask to this layer and fill the mask with black, making it invisible.
Use a fuzzy edged brush with reduced opacity to paint white on the layer mask.

This will let the desaturated layer show through where you paint the white. You can play with the opacity to let as much or as little red through as you want.

I used adjustment masks as well.

on the face (masked "problematic" parts by color range):
- channel mixer (-5% red)
- photo filter "deep yellow" at 35% density (you might try "deep emerald" for a cooler, more 'pale' look)

then 'on top' for the whole image:
- saturation: master +10, cyans +10 (for the eyes)
- brightness/contrast: both +10

finally clone-stamp, patch and healing some wrinkles away.

Didn't realize how crappy the colors are on my monitors at work. Don't think I can get them to spring for a color calibration tool there.

I didnt realize how much worth a calibration tool can be until i used it last week on a new laptop... i used a spider 3 pro and it does an amazing job.
i am doubting though that your work will pay for it.

Try avoiding the sun. It makes less color correction to do in Photoshop afterwards.
