14 months ago i was amazed by this video.Shocked
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMEB-CSieq4
aaargh that video tune. i will never forget that tune.

then i tried myself to make one and i failed. i tried it again on the next morning and i failed again. [additional info : i'm working it without layer window ]. and finnaly i figured it out! there is a layer window! that can help me to determine which layer show first.

and that's it my Vuery 1st chop.

Selection : pure magic wand Laughing Laughing Laughing

First chop I ever did was right after building this new computer in 2002. It had 5 fans, including a 6 inch fan in the front.. it did keep things cool. also made my curtains dirty quick like

all i had was a crap web cam... (and I still have it)
I would for the most part, only repair pictures or small mods..

naturally i was searching the internet just how to do that...
(never had a clue it was photoshopped)...i wanted to create a simular photo with my wife and me...
once i had ps i coulndt find just how to do that and then after a long time searching a found it...
after that i was going with the flow ..thinking if ps can do that maybe it could a lot of other stuff..?
and i'm still searching for new things to learn...

Tommekin, I think Sid was being serious, your English is just fine, a lot better than my Flemish. Smile

I had played with Photoshop at work . . . adding an extra eye to a friend's picture or things like that, but this was my first chop here.

Hey Sanctuary,

Hahaha, I started chopping when I was 14 (32 years ago). We didn't have PS or even a computer.

I remember taking several photos of the same mountain (panoramic) and having to wait for days for the local drug store to develop my 110 film. Then taking scissors and cutting and taping them together in order (photomerge). What a pain, but it worked for me.

Does this count as choppin'?

I think I was about 30 when I got my first computer and my Dad (aka gramps @ PSC) installed PhotoShop 4.0 on my MAC and thought it was fun, but never started learning how it really works till I hooked up here at PSC about 1-1/2 ago.

Thanks Sanctuary for making me feel so fu&king old!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

BTW........ WTF is your real name? or maybe a nickname?

I started using Photoshop before it had layers, ca. 1990, I think. Adding type to an image was an abomination! I used to create my images (mostly drawings for in-house technical talks) in MacWorks, then buff them up in Photoshop. Layers caused a revolution!

I first started using photoshop for making fun out of work colleagues by putting thier faces on other peoples bodies, that became the norm at work and when ever anyone was leaving the company i was asked to make some funny picture that would be presented to them on thier last day at work.
This was usually photos of them as famous movie stars etc

After that i got into restoring old photos for friends.

This is one of my work colleague images i done for her retirement, her nickname was Yoda as she was only about 4.5 foot tall.

And this was my very first chop for PSC
