Your watch is WAY better. The top watch is garbage. What's the point in having a watch if you have to push a button to see the time? And weak visual appeal. They could have at least had an elaborate holographic image appear behind the laser hands.

Well, their watch is probably based in current, relatively affordable technology. To achieve my concept would require extremely cheap, tiny laser diodes, a battery that would be able to hold enough power to sustain multiple lasers being constantly on, and being able to squeeze all of it into something that small, not to mention the electronics, fiber optics, wiring and whatever it would need. Even if it is possible with the best tech available, it would be so expensive that only a handful of people would be able to afford it anyway. Laughing

It definitely seems like someone at their company had the same idea as me, though. I just made mine really crazy since I wasn't planning on attempting to manufacture it. Smile

As for the center area, it looks like they're doing what I figured would have to be done; it would be neat for it to be "open" where you could stick your finger through the center, but I figured it would have to be encased in glass with some sort of laser-revealing gas sealed within, allowing the lasers to appear in thin-air at all times.

That one is not mine, so I wouldn't know.

Too bad you hadn't entered it into the contest because then you could have claimed "prior art" and gotten a share of the sales. Laughing
