This thread idea started years ago. Funny how it's still the same drama so I'll start it the same way. Laughing

Drama aside. What are your nominations for:

1. Best match-up (i.e. the match-up that you had the hardest time deciding on)

2. Funniest chop in round 1

3. Best theme in a round 1 chop

4. Best overall chop in round 1

5. Biggest surprise for round 1 (i.e. upset win, someone "raising their game", etc.)

6. Biggest no-show disappointment.

I'll post my answers after reviewing the match results. Cool

Also, as noted yesterday, a trend I was surprised about was that 4 people all had the BP idea. I was kinda surprised by that for some reason. Still a great theme idea though.

Mine so far:
1. Billywillgo v. Watch Them Drift. - took me a while to decide.
2. VVP's puppy. Hand's down. Laughing
3. billtvshow's Humpty Dumpty. Laughing
4. Tough to call. I liked aliasco's spiral mug's overall look.
5. Jury's out... but kittie did beat Eve. Cool
6. Designed2522. Hope everything's okay there. Sad

1. mellow/monkey was difficult for me...

2. Funniest chop for me had to be Gran's "mugged!" chop Laughing

3. I really loved rocky's fruit... very original theme in my opinion.

4. Best overall chop??? I can't say. At all.

5. Biggest surprise? I beat Eve. Really close.

6. No show disappointment... that Naiko couldn't play! But as far as no-showing contestants.. I was originally disappointed that vokaris wasn't there... then he was. So it's fine.

The biggest thing for me was how much Mamahet's chop looked just like a Marco chop(look/feel/idea). I don't think it was fair on Anna. Marco was the first to vote for Mama and he commented "The other is funny and is a nice idea, not sure about the structure or the background though, it doesn't compliment it. For this for me is a tighter and more story telling entry. with some great touches."
Do you have the ability to feel shame?

Aww...people queried my entry as they couldn't see the source - but it was totally all source...just with liquify tool, smudge tool, layer modes, colour amends etc.

I was going to keep the phoenix blue but it looked wrong (being a phoenix!)...I took a gamble and I lost. Below is my entry with a couple of the colour layers removed...so you can see how I used the source (liquified and smudged)...I just tried to make it look realistic!

Monkeytwig did good!

Very Happy

I apologise that I didn't get to vote as I wanted due to illness...only negative was being disappointed there were so many no-shows in the entries...

Some nice work tho - let's do it again!

VBW to those still forging ahead!

1. Best match-up (i.e. the match-up that you had the hardest time deciding on)
I had a hard time deciding on the seelcraft vs Sh!Za matchup. It ended up being very close!

2. Funniest chop in round 1
With out a doubt it was Claf's slipping rodent. LOL

3. Best theme in a round 1 chop
I thought Sjitske's theme was fun and well done.

4. Best overall chop in round 1
The burning couch's creepy doll.

5. Biggest surprise for round 1 (i.e. upset win, someone "raising their game", etc.)
For me The Shaman losing is shocking. Not to put down his opponent but I thought Sean's entry was brilliant and I was shocked it lost. . .

6. Biggest no-show disappointment.
More disappointed in some who didn't enter who did some great work last year. I was looking forward to seeing some of these choppers in action again this contest.

Anyway, good job by all I enjoyed most of the entries and the creative ideas. Can't wait until next round! Very Happy

Guys, please, can I make it clear that my chop was my own.... I'm offended that you think it's had something to do with Mark as I'm a very fair person & certainly wouldn't have felt it was right for him to have done any of it given how unfair that would have been on Anna.

I'm not sure why a lynch mob must attempt to knock anything I do on this site but you really need to stop this.

Of course things are going to be slightly along the lines of Marks thinking, we're alike & that's exactly why we're together, otherwise we'd probably hate one another! Not forgetting the fact that it was him who also introduced me to PS properly too.

Is there really any need to put other people down for something that should be fun for them to participate in?

I give up, I really do, I've tried to get along with you all & for whatever reason (I'm guessing because you have had issues with Mark or something - I don't know & don't ask) you still can't give me a break.

I'm finding the fact that you can't treat me as an individual more offensive than any of the comments you have made towards me since I joined PSC.

That's all anyway, I'm sick of justifying myself.

good work Rachel... now everyone will feel sorry for you and start sending you messages saying how much they love you and show you support. Nice way to earn pity!

cheers

meanwhile... let´s all hate anfa and arc... boooo bad boys!! you should feel ashamed!! boooo

if you´re just like marco, as you said in yer speech, you might as well understand why we don´t like you. And YES, there is marco´s fingerprints in yer chop...
