I wonder how much Coke paid to have their products promoted as healthy alternatives and not have any of their products listed as 32 waffer cookie equivalents.
Sadly, the article is correct by saying people have replaced water with gallons of soda. I used to be one of them. I used to weigh 217lbs. But I switched to diet soda and started P90X and now weigh 173lbs. So I think it's clear that high fructose corn syrup is to blame for fat Americans.

That pizza burger...WTF! It looks like you yanks have created a food-monster.

I was in America last year so its really easy for me to tell you why they are so fat.

1. Your 'medium' size in any restaurant/fast food outlet is equilivent to Australia's 'large' size

2. 'Supersize' doesnt exist in Australia...but in America its all the rage...probably equilivent to 4 'large' size meals here in Australia. I never ordered more than a medium (do they have small size?)

3. When you get a meal at a restaurant you dont just get the meal, you also get a choice of either soup or salad as an 'entree'. The soup or salad is easily enough to feed a starving family in a 3rd-world country...but in this case its barely an appetizer for the meal (which is twice as big there as it is here in Australia)

I always got the salad (not a fan of soup) and from 1 restaurant they gave me half a head of lettuce...lol

I'm amazed by the sugar in those drinks...but then again you don't have to get 20+ oz drinks, do you?
