Nice laptop. Smile

Bit light on the RAM and smallish screen (14" standard) for my tastes but it'll do (and I wouldn't turn it down if someone gave it to me). Laughing

You'll have a good time with it I'm sure. All the HP laptops I've handled lately have been good solid PCs. Cool

BTW here is the full specs on your laptop. Looks like you got one step down from the highest processor they offer in that unit. That's probably a good thing heat-wise.

I'm not a big fan of HP to be honest.
At the moment I'm running a computer repairshop (pc's and laptops) and it's basicly HP which has the most problems with broken motherboards, just after it went out of warranty..
So taking extra warranty is not a waste of money.

Hmmm... Many people having issues with HPs.... I've played with several different HP laptops and PCs. Every one of them has been solid and had beautiful screens.

I guess it's all in how well you take care of it. Do yourself a favor Sanctuary and get a laptop case that's the right size for your computer. Too big and the laptop shifts around inside.

My co-worker/supervisor swears by Dell laptops. Personally I've had bad experiences with Dells. When I was with the County gov't we had Dells exclusively for the laptops and they broke right and left. Especially the hinges and latches. Had USB ports bust all the time too (or they'd just quit working altogether).

But if someone wanted to give me a new Dell (or HP or Acer or Sony or etc.) laptop I still wouldn't turn it down. Razz

I've always used HP and I've never had any issues with them in fact I wouldn't replace mine so I guess its a personal preference really. But from the stats you posted I'd be happy with it.

Some of my own statistics for broken PC's/laptops over the past 10 months where the motherboard died and needed replacement, but because it's out of warranty, the costs are too high to replace.

Medion Laptop: 1
Medion PC: 4

Packard Bell Laptop: 1
Packard Bell PC: 0

Acer Laptop: 2
Acer PC: 3

HP PC: 3 (2 of them were just out of warranty)
HP Laptop: 9 (7 of them were just out of warranty - most of them are from the DV9000-series)

With Dell, Packard Bell, Sony Vaio, Mac, Samsung, Asus systems I never encountered faulty motherboards yet in that way that it needs replacement.

I won't say HP is a bad brand, but the numbers don't lie. The complaints about HP laptops worldwide are huge and a lot of factory-errors are not even supported, even though HP admitted two years ago that there were a lot of problems with their motherboards, going in conflict with Nvidia-cards. Repaircost: 500 $ when out of warranty. Problem is that most of them got broken, just out of warranty. Customer = screwed.

At the other hand, thanks to HP, I've managed to build up a huge amount of spareparts such as Hard drives, Memory, displays, Wireless cards, etc Smile

Nevertheless, HP systems with good working hardware are working just fine.
