I'll be traveling up North 50 miles to view a total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017. The path of the best view is pretty thin and travels over Oregon and heads southeast across the United States. Usually the weather is nice here in August, but if for some reason it is cloudy and raining that day, I'll have to wait until 2045 for my next chance to see this phenomenon in Northern California.

For Australian and New Zealand citizens, you'll have a bunch of opportunities to see a total solar eclipse starting in 2028, then again in 2030 (AUS only), 2037, and 2038.

For Europeans, travel to Spain in 2026, otherwise you'll have to wait for the 2081 eclipse.
