I'm glad you posted that great piece of music ....very subtle but powerful. I had never heard it before. I only started listening to his music with the Still Life (Talking) album ('87 or '88?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu4n-9avOn0&feature=related and I really like that one, too. I've listened to the "Offramp" album quite a bit now (since your post), and love it!! Pat Metheny seems to have that "instantly recognizable" sound. If you listen closely.. there are alot of things going on in there.
