1.blur of the handle is wrong. it cannot be blurred and sharp on the same focus plane.
2.blade looks a bit twisted (at least this is what i see from the pespective of its unsharp edge).
3.shadows are always multiplying each other if they overlap.
4.pepper needs an aditional very thin shadow at the base
5.the liquid looks gelly a bit, needs sharper highlights to make it thinner.

6. I'm not veteran Smile

I'm not an expert either but it appears to me that the knife needs to be turned upside down. As it is right now, it looks like someone trying to cut a pepper with the dull side of the blade.

thanks bogo and roger

the blur was only added to try to give the impression the knife was tilted towards you, and as for the angle of the blade the idea was that the blunt edge is resting on the pepper with the sharp edge resting on the board.

my vision was that it was just sitting there but i can see the confusion...thanks again to both of you

The white highlight on the pepper should disappear when
It goes under the knife in the shadow.

Im no pro at all... but it seems the juice from the tomato on the top left by the knife "flows" onto the blade as it's 1 dimension. there is a hight difference between the table and knife... yet the juice seems flat...

And I agree with ray on the pepper lighting. The blade should cancel the lighting to that extreme.

Im sure I was no help Huh..
