I have sold some artwork.
It was sold thru an agency and they handled the size and print arrangements.

What I do know is your best not going thru an online type of thing if you want true representation of your work.

You need to be able to have some control on the out put, it took about 5 test prints of the work I did before I was happy with the out come.

Pricing I left up to the agency and of courses they got there commission but I did make a nice little profit to tell the truth.

I guess its all about what you want, the exposure for a lesser price to sell or if you beleive that the work is worth the big dollars.

I myself was very very surprised with the amount my work was sold for and was impressed with the return for me...but it was more about having some thing I created purchased by some one else.

I have sold some photography work to local magazines and news papers but they have a very different set up with photos and what they pay.

Well I know I did not answer your questions but I hope I was of some help.

Wink

Well...

I have sold my portraits before.

I charged $75 for the work of the painting only, to a professional photographer. She then ordered the image on a gallery wrapped canvas for her client and charged her something like $400 for it (it was BIG)

I have also done a couple of memorial portraits, and some baby images.

I charge $150 base for an 8x10 image, matted and framed, and then offer print packages for the family to order prints to send in Thank You notes, etc, and offer a la carte pricing as well.

I can send you the PDF of my prices if you want.

How did that work out? Curious as I'd like to suggest this idea to a fellow artist.
