Can anybody give me some tips for maintaining the image quality but reducing its size.
As the limit on upload of 125 kb frustrate me and reduces my detailing of image

Try when you finished the image layers at original size and make it into a jpg, does resizing it to a smaller scale then not help you enough to maintain original quality? (resizing the jpg I mean, not the entire layer file)

you should get Advantage... but if you can't then use the save for web and devices option (right under save as) then there is a few options in there to get as close as you can to the desired file size.

Also it seems like if you have really big images that run off of your canvas it makes the image size larger. delete everything that isn't in view. if that makes any sense.

When photoshop won't do it I use an old version of ACDSEE (3.1) Photo Enhance. Re-saving it with it removes the meta info and lowers the file size (often a substantial amount) without compromising the quality. I am sure there are newer apps designed specifically for it ... like meta strippers or something.

By paying money you can become an advantage member and broaden the constraints to 512kb.
