There may have been some speculation whether or not my entry was done via graphical software or the "old fashioned" way.

I am keeping the psd LD, because I have always wondered how to do that kind of work so krisp and clean. Thanks for the chance to have a look-see.

Thanks to all who voted for me in round 1. Personally I liked nova's entry better than mine. Although for "dewking" who commented "The other one is nice too, but seems like just a mask and grunge overlay. More work here." Here is the PSD:

I think your round 1 match against adequ was the most difficult choice. I wish you were heading on to round two.

I also did a manual vector trace but no one appeared to suggest it was anything but.

For the sake of sharing, he's what that trace looked like; it's not all that surprising...
