Guys, I found the following letter crumpled up on a sidewalk here in Toronto.
I'm not sure if it's authentic but it's signed "Proc". And that would explain why he still hasn't issued a statement. He must have just lost it!

Dear friends,

I'm sorry you had to find out about the sale of the site in this manner.
You must understand that making this announcement prematurely risked a disruption to the site which could have negatively affected the buyer's perception of this growing, thriving and blissful community.

Yes, in an ideal world, I would have given first rights of sale to members of this site.
Perhaps I could have found someone who was not only passionate about turning
a profit, but also about this community. However, it would have taken someone who cared about the community to make such an offer in the first place, and you all know me by now.

Many of you have expressed curiosity about the new owners. Well let me be the first to tell you that I have no idea who they are or what their intentions are with this site.
Frankly - and this should come as no surprise - I don't care. Perhaps they'll take my helpful advice by increasing ad space and claiming ownership of your work. Perhaps they'll transform it into something unrecognizable or even shut it down altogether.
All I know is, someone just gave me 30 grand for this thing and I'm not sticking around long enough for them to realize what they just did.

It's no secret that I bought this site to make a buck. And let me tell you, I had my doubters.
People said, "Emanuel, you can't raise the value of a site by neglecting it so aggressively that activity decreases tenfold in a few short years!"
"Emanuel", they said, "you can't turn a profit by hemorrhaging your most talented members!".
Well guess who had the last laugh, suckers?!

Of course, I couldn't have made this money if it weren't for all the people who worked behind the scenes - tirelessly and, most importantly - for free, on my behalf.
And then there are the members. The few remaining loyal and paying members who supported this site through circumstances that I certainly would not have endured had I been in your place.
You guys must really love this program you call PhotographyChop, or whatever.
Without your enduring patronage, I would be $30,150 poorer today.

And for that, I want to say a heartfelt, "Thank You".

I mean, I didn't really say it. Yet.
I didn't even say, "goodbye", if you can imagine.
But I'm sure I will, right?

I noticed some thing on one of the links. ( I am planning on purchasing an apartment in the spring.)

Jeez he was living with his mommy and daddy. They must be thrilled. Maybe they bought the site. Probably cheaper in the long term than giving free rent and feeding him.

Actually, Proc was hit by a bus, but left the site to me in his will.
