Why is speed chop contest called that way? From what I can tell, it has nothing to do with a speed. It doesn't really differ from everyday contests. IMO, submission time should be limited to couple of hours from posting a source, otherwise it is plain silly.

For you its no different because you dont have an advantage membership. On speedchop contests people with advantage membership dont get to see the image before hand.

The reason it is called that is the source picture is not available to advantage people until the contest opens. This used to be the way everyone got the source image, the morning the contest opened.

Thank you guys for clarifying this. I still think that it would be more challenging to limit the time of submission (hours instead of days). Regards

That is not a good idea, when you know that the people participating on PSC are living all around the world, nobody has the same time, see???

And also consider that some are unemployed or retired and others have jobs and family issues to deal with. Hours to chop is just not a viable idea, but its good you are thinking of ways to improve the site.

You got that wrong. I do not care about this site at all. I think that this site sucks beyond repair. Photoshop Contests is waist of time in general, complete scam and it should be skipped for that. It might be interesting place once, but it is dead now.
