Its Veterans day in the U.S. but I want to make sure all the guys from England, Poland, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, France, any other nations that I served with in Afghanistan (or have served in any war) get recognition as well.

Canadians soldiers fought and died in Afganistan.

Here in Ottawa our nations capital they have a Rememberance ceremony near capital hill. Went the last two years. Last year the cannons were right behind me and when the first volley went off I started to think how terrifying it must have been and I'm in downtown Ottawa not in a trench with shells exploding and people dying all around me.

Now there are no more WWI veterans left as the last two an American named Frank Buckles died in 2011 and a Brit named Florence Green died this year in February. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I my lifetime their have been three conflicts, WWII, Korea, and Afganistan too young for the first two and too old for the last one.

Just saying never forget!

Thanks Shane and all those who have served with you.
We may have different days in Australia but we are still thankful everyday for the work that all soldiers do from all of the allied countries both those who have fallen and those who have returned. In fact i am currently living in Turkey, the country were we, the New Zealanders and the English lost many of heros.

To steal a slogan from our very own ANZAC day.. Lest We Forget.

We Remember Them
At the rising of the sun and its going down,
we remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter,
we remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring,
we remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer,
we remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
we remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends,
we remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength,
we remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart,
we remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share,
we remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make,
we remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs,
we remember them.
As long as we live, they, too, will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.

My deepest gratitude to all who served and are serving, those who we have lost most of all. I am lucky, my son came home after six years. Many women are not so lucky. No matter where you are from, I hope this day in some way shows you how much you are appreciated and loved. Happy Veteran's Day to all you Soldiers out there!
