I gotta lay out a booklet and was given a large excel spreadsheet... to use as a 1 column of text that will flow thru out a booklet...

how the heck can it be changed into a text document and so I can have the info stacked into one column, versus spread out with tabs?

so like this:
name
info
info
info
info

instead of this:
name info info info blah!

I can't even open the file, some with a pc had to do it and they couldn't figure out how to save it for me.

are they just going to have to retype that monster file, or can it be changed to a 1 column format?

Sure I use Excel, but mostly for my fantasy Olympic and Olympic related bid books.

Does well in making the necessary charts and so forth you find in such books.

yes, but how do you change the spreadsheet layout of text into a 1 column of text? is it possible? or do they just have to retype the text all over again?

You don't have to type it all over, but... you have to click on each tab with the enter button I'm affraid.

Let me try one more thing.

I'll be back Wink

Sorry, can't find a cool way.

You can get rit of the cells, but it will be:
name info info info info

Maybe this can help you:

In order to make a whole column of cells as one column, you must select the cells, right click - Format Cells then select merge cells

You can choose the orientation of the text, and wrapping text if you wish.

I think this is what you were inquiring about.

While I'm here, check out the bid books I made:
