I just wasted a couple of hours screwing around trying to upload a GIF. No matter what changes I made on my Windows 8.1 machine, PSC would not accept it. The pixel dimensions were to spec, and the file size was well under 512k, but no dice. To rule out the possibility of another Windows annoyance, I copied the GIF to my old Vista machine. The old machine uploaded my entry for the 10/30/2015 competition without a hitch.

I've uploaded a number of static images using Windows 8.1. No problems. GIFs, on the other hand, are non-starters. I'm guessing it's an Internet Explorer configuration issue.

Does anyone have a clue why GIFs fail to upload with 8.1?

Try something common as Mozilla or Chrome for start. It's easy to download and install (and uninstall) and should not affect your other (IE) settings. If it works you can find whatever other browser you think it's best.

It's a fairly new PC. IE has not been a problem--until now, possibly. The old machine uses Firefox, which became very crash-prone and freeze-inclined.
