What is it about an entry that makes you vote?

The reason I ask, is because I see lots of submissions that are good get beaten out by ones from long-time PSCers with a name for themselves, and not as much skill. (not talking about me.. I have no skill)

A lot of times I see votes for people whose work really does not deserve a vote, at least in my eyes. if the chop is really done poorly I can't see why people vote for them you seem worried about people that have been on the site for a long time. I would think if they've been on a site a long time. They should definitely have some skills, if not just from talent from repetition. I also believe it runs in cycles. You can't always cut the perfect diamond every time.I can see if you admire someone's work, and they've really impressed you in the past that you throw them a bone on that day when their work really isn't up to par.Hhoping that tomorrow's post will make up for it,
when I first got on the site. I would vote like crazy and now I look a little closer. I take a little more time, and then I make an honest decision whether to vote or not. I feel people should earn their votes,

I'm new here so I know I won't get many votes, and that's ok. I figure I'll have some fun and learn some stuff.

I vote for someone for one of two reasons. 1) If they show some real skill 2) If the work is imaginative and creative, even if it isn't so good technically

I mostly vote for creative, original, funny or different picts. Not just for picts that are clean chops with a lot of work in it.

I vote because some one way more smarter than me, put a little vote button on the bottom of each image. I wish I knew how they did that......
