In todays contest, Disc Toss, TheShaman made a comment on Jerry717's entry that he has frittered away all his votes already,

All 25!! In the first 3 hours!! how can this be true?

Anyway, it got me to wondering...How many of you do this?

I almost always have votes left over but I spend them sparingly throughout the entire contest.

I had the same thought showcase. Shaman can't help it. He's a helluva nice guy and sees the positive in everyone's work. The world needs more shamans. [end circle jerk]

Personally i've become a hard ass. I'll go through all the chops a couple times through the course of the first day. Only those that really impress me get a vote. Then I go back through on the last day to be sure that a really great late entry doesn't get neglected. More often than not the contest ends with me having votes left.

I do have to sya that I'm not with shaman (and many others) with regards to the disc toss chops. I'm not really enjoying that one. But, then again, I didn't enter so I can't complain too much.

I wasnt commenting on whether he is a nice guy or not but this is a point that should be addressed eventually...being positive on entries is a good thing but thinking you have to vote to be positive is somewhat of a warped approach...IMHO..

So being a newbie, Shaman, I will give you my 2 cents...
It IS a contest. You should consider that when you browse the entries and vote accordingly.

*edit: Sorry Shaman. I was editing while you were writing the comment below. I do like comments but I enter a contest for votes...thats all I was saying.

If Sting were voting, he would still have 25 votes a week after the contest closed. That's all I'm saying. Shocked

When I was YOUNG I would tend to BMWE (blow my wad early) - but as one matures and gets more gray hairs one tends to not BMWE any longer - one tends to enjoy long, slow, attentive voting sessions that can take hours and hours, totally wearing down the vote-receiver in a way that leaves them gasping for more votes.

Just thought you should all know that (WHIPPERSNAPPERS!!!!!) Cool
