PSfaceoff is anon because this place USED to be anon.

Also, voters would have to be anon too so you couldn't figure out they didn't make the post. Like, if I vote on something... you'll know I didn't do the pic. Very Happy

Maybe we should have an anonymous posting day once a week or once a month or something.

I think having our names on our posts makes us more accountable. I'm not saying we'd all start plagiarizing and flaming one another if the posts were anonymous, but I do know that there are those who use anonymity as an excuse to misbehave. I think there's more integrity in having your work connected to your name.

I also think that anonymity would not stop friend-voting, it would just drive it underground and make it harder for our mods to detect.

The H2H contests are anonymous. That's plenty, for me.

Back when the posting was anonymous....there actually were networks of people who would reveal their posts on IM (& vote for each other) .

Same thing would happen again, if it went back. The fact that PSC hosts the images doesn't change anything. People, if they really want to, will cheat either way.

Personally, I wish the posting here was anonymous. The truth, however, is that method doesn't work here.

At the end of the day, I pretty much agree with what Chrispis had to say.

Continue to have a GREAT summer everyone.

Smile

Patre is good ... Patre is wise. I agree with everything he said, and he said it much better than I ever would have.

it might not stop friends votes 100% but it might stop undervoted posts because someone isn't favored amongst the chat room/message boards.

I think people will complain either way, but I did like anon posting better...

When will you people understand this simple equation:
good chop = good votes
bad chop = bad votes.
The only difference with anonymous posting is the "network of people" bluefist is talking about. If you like to receive mail of people linking to their pic and asking: "what do you think about it?" it's up to you!
Is there so many unrecognized genius around here?
Laughing
it has been already discussed so many times!!!

have to say i thought anonimity would improve 'the system'. but i'm enclined to think otherwise now. also, i (we) wouldn't be able to see each other's development. i like seeing beginners (including myself) improve and, votewise, would vote for a chop that maybe technically a 'lesser' chop, but because it shows improvement/effort of that person.
that would totally dissapear in anonymous voting, making the contest/site less attractive for beginning choppers.

or did someone allready mention this Confused

thbeghin, you still can't deny the "popularity vote".

Or even the, "you can do much better so I'm not going to vote" vote

I agree with Bluefist and THBeghin 100%
I agree with Chrispis 219%
I agree with Roba 0%-- would Lrossa know what you post?
Vunt-that's exactly what the difference has been--at least for those
who want community and a learning situation.
