(we're doing the soapbox thing again, are we?) 
I hate voting for anfa and am always looking for any reason not to. 
But if you look more closely at his brick wall post, you will notice all the subtle details that make it a vote-worthy post. The way the face blends into the bricks, the way the mortar wraps around the lips and contours of the face, giving it a realistic effect, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, he's good. Big deal. 
(trips getting off soapbox and crashes into Lurker. Sorry, dude!  )

Anyway, I see both sides. But I do think we're deluding ourselves a bit to say that a person's name isn't good for an extra 10-20 votes alone. I know from time to time that I've seen an entry, might've thought it a little subpar, and then thought, "so-and-so wouldn't do subpar work, so i must not be getting it" or something to that extent.
Ideally, I would like to try anonymous posting for a couple weeks to see if it's any better. I realize this issue has been brought up before, and I know people have said, "It's not about the votes," which is true. Bbut that same rationale could be used to in favor of changes like this...if it's not about the votes, why not try new things? Why remain wedded to any one system? Just my thoughts...if you enjoyed them, you can read more in my weekly USA Today column, "Hamster Turds."
