Hi gang. I can't seem to view GIFS anymore, posted ones I mean. All the famous ones from here ( like Rein flying that perfect little spaceship from so long ago Laughing ) that I have saved work fine, and anything else I've saved over the years still work. My computer is beyond well protected, I'm sure it's probably a settings thing that I know one of us knows how to fix. I'd appreciate any help. Thanx Gravy

what system are you using?

In windows (not that I know much about windows), try going to Tools -->Internet options -->advanced. Scroll down to multimedia and see if "play animations in web pages" is checked. I'm really just guessing here. Confused

My first action would be , and you may have already done it, to reboot..
If that didn't work, the second thing I would try is to save the animation to
the desktop in order to see, if it would work when I tried to open it
from that location. I think that these two actions, even, if not successful,
allow you to make some guesses about what to do next..

Mr boat, download and open the .gif in image ready, make sure you have more than just one frame.
one frame = a picture, more than one frame = an animation Laughing Laughing Laughing
P.S. are mine and marco's signatures animating ???

Sage, I was really hoping that was the one but it's the first thing that I tried. Smile
Thanx Patre but it's been rebooted about 1000 frickin' times. (Pretty soon it's going to be just booted- out the door!) Laughing
Marco, I'm really hoping your not right, I know what you say could be true. Sad
Splodge, if I try to save an animated .gif say from this site, the only file ext. it is offering me to save it in is bitmap. WTF? Confused
Anyway thanx again guys, I'll just keep plugging away at it till it gets better or drowns. Laughing

Open your browser. Go to the tools menu and select Internet options. Select
the advanced tab and make sure Play Animation on Web Page has a check mark next
to it (under multimedia sub title). Add check mark and apply. That should do
it.
also: Zone alarm disables animated gifs on its default settings.
i'm to good to you lot Smile
