Is this a good thing?
You know what I'm talking about.
Looknig at other peoples portfolios and ripping off the main idea of someones pic I think is wrong!
I voted for it because it was a good chop but I bit my tongue so as not to leave a neg on the post(hehe marco).
Classics are classics, leave them alone!
My respect to Chris (who has given me no respect but I'll still respect him).
So rip something off or come up with something of your own. I know what I like.

I thought it was a really good votable chop--
even really cool- But the lack
of credit to the original poster was
really UN-classy--
If credit were given where it were due I woulda been excited over
this chop Smile
Hope that doesn't sound mean- it wasn't
meant to sound that way- I just think even though
everyone knows where the idea came from -
it still needs to be said--
Or maybe I should say--
the ego still needs to be fed. Very Happy that's a little funny....I chuckled.

All due respect Anfa, I'm not sure if it's that cut & dry.

There are very FEW ideas posted here that haven't been done before.

I think your point is valid when certain posts are blatant rip-offs of classic ideas.

In most cases though, I think most of us are merely influenced by styles & ideas that have done well before.

I KNOW some your work has been influenced by past contests, so have mine, so has 90% of the members who post.

So I would answer NO...if it's a direct rip-off. YES...if it's just someone showing off their influences.

Also, he might not say as much, but I'm sure Chrispis respects you're talent.

I certainly do.

Bluefist - I know there are a lot of ideas used and used again but square cats is something in a league all of its own.

However, the recent cat you speak of is more of a rectangular cat. Razz Twisted Evil

(Hmmm...maybe I'll do a hexagonal ...or even an OCTOGONAL cat in the near future...that'll get me shitloads of votes!) Shocked

Sorry anfa,... but in which way didn't I give you respect? You are one of the better choppers around, and you have awesome ideas,... I do respect your work, period.

I agree with bluefist on the copy and recycle thing,... I don't get why you are making a big deal of it,... I thought it was funny to make a similar post and take it a step further. The classic wasn't THAT orginal too btw,... bonsaikittens.

By this time most of the members know that chrispis and kurakima are the same person, one time chripis left as the overactive member,.. and kurakima replaced him,... I even informed jmh about it.

I hope some screw and bolts will come along so I can make a complete kamasutra guide with it.
