Hey you guys,
I know some of you ALSO know a thing or two about Illustrator.
Can any of you tell me how to create a TWO (or more) page pdf?

Basically, I'm creating a two sided quickstart guide. At the moment I have two files (which I can easily save as pdf), one is side A and one is side B. The printers are fine with this, but the people I am doing this for would like a two page pdf to approve the file.

Anyone?

nope ... use acrobat reader full version for it and there you can make a pdf from multiple files ... so turn it into two eps files and you are on your way ...

if ye have microsoft word, ye can put the pages into microsoft word and use a .Doc to .pdf converter.

Yep. Illustrator doesn't do multiple-page files. Desh is right about using Acrobat to merge/crop two pages into a single file. And unless I'm mistaken, you can print a file to .pdf format from just about any program, so if you have Pagemaker, Quark, Indesign or one of those badboys, you can combine your eps files there, too. Be sure to use .eps format; not Illustrator.

(I've been sitting here wondering if, by using the "tile" command, you could do a print-to disk out of Illustrator and create a multiple-page document that way. Might be worth a try.)

.doc to PDF is still cheaper than coreldraw.

(save as an EPS, then insert the EPS into a word doc.)

everyone who said you can only create one pdf per illustrator file is correct. To be able to merge two pdf files into one, you need the full version of Acrobat. Open one of the pdf files, go to document -->pages-->insert, then navigate to find your second file. You'll have the option of either placing the second page before or after the first.

If you want your final document to open with a view of the pages on the side, go to file-->document properties and in the document options, beside the show pull down tab, select "page panels and page".

when the recipient opens the file, he/she will see that there are more than one page to the document.

Again, you need to have the full version of Acrobat.

I still think it might be possible to trick it. Set up your document as tabloid-size, wide, then use page setup to set your printed size to letter. Set up your pages side by side. Then go into, um, Document Setup, and click tile full pages, then print or export it as a pdf. Wouldn't that work? (The version of Illustrator I have at home is different from the one at work, and I don't have a postscript printer, so I can't test it.)

cynn: that's a good idea, although when you print that way, you still have to go back to your original illustrator file to "move" the page tiling over to print the other side. If you were to do this to create a pdf, you would still be left with two separate pdf files. Or, what may happen is that you would create 1 pdf, but tabloid size, with both sides on one pdf page.

Like you, I haven't tried it, so I'm just guessing from experience.
