I have beaten it down to two different ring styles for my class ring, butI cannot decide which I like more. The pic below pretty much shows how they will look. Silver, blue stone.(The name, years, hobbies on sides arent mine.) If you guys could help me decide, that would be awesome. This will influence me in my final decision, my family and (local) friends are no help! Oh, yeah... on ring #2, those blank spots on either side of the stone would be my first and last enitial.

definately number 1 in my opinion bud, number 2 would leave a CSI style impression on someones face if you punched them lol but seriously, I like the style of #! better

There's something kinda feminine to me about the style of #2... which isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you intend on the ring being worn by girlfriends more than you

Otherwise, I'd go with #1... I could see guy friends making fun of you if you were wearing #2.

Seriously go with #1. The abrupt corners/edges on #2 will be more prone to wear and chipping of the stone.

I like the first one--it's a classic. You don't want something that's going to be out of style in 10 years.

And looky there, you can get band instruments on a class ring! That's so cool, I will need to remember that when it's time for my little sax player to get his ring.
