ok, probably I'll get a ton of people hating me for that, but I'll say it anyway...

first... I believe that if this category exists, it's supposed to be used...

Voters, patterns, systems, ideas, ect.

now let's go to the facts... I read somewhere in here people complaining people didn't vote all of their 25 votes. That's a fact... but usually, and usually doesn't mean always, the people who don't use their 25 votes don't do it cause they vote for what they consider a good chop, either in quality and skills or for the effort put on it, as a motivation.

In the other hand, there are people who use all their 25 votes, and a good ammount of them in the first hours.

Sooooo, here's the idea... why not downgrade the votes to 5?? That way
1. people would use them more carefully
2. it would reduce the friendly voting
3. would turn the contest more competitive
4. would make the motivational votes more motivating

it's not a huuuge programming change like asking to change the whole voting system, anonimity, etc etc, and would improve the site a lot. Possibly we even could see the old good choppers that had quit because of the voting system back more often...

So, like I started... if the mods think this thread is not suitable or innapropriate in the moment, just shut it down. After all, this is placed in the right forum... voting ideas.

Best regards,
arc

12 votes per day would be enough for me

hmm, yeah, michel has a good idea with the meeting in the middle--
a little early in the thread for such reasonableness though.

People would sell their mothers' into servitude, start hating each other,
form gangs, fling bombs at one another on the Frap Map,
and there'd be much bloodshed. Twisted Evil

...all for the sake of a vote. Crying or Very sad

On the other hand, more thought, effort and skill would go into "chops" ?

Maybe. Possibly.

Interesting idea, Arc.

It's slightly brokenstated. Just slightlantly.

There'd be a large increase in the number of entries with 0 votes, and people would get very discouraged. I think a drop in the number of regulars would result.

Not really clown... if I had frequent 0 votes, and saw other chops getting votes, I'd try even harder to improve and grab some of them... now with easy votes, we just tend to go lazy, once a 5 mins chop can get to top3...

Any number less than the twentie five-- they're just too many-- too easy for trading and junk like that--which is and does happen and effects the contests- AND
if we're worrried about people's feeling with zero votes everyday, consider that EVERYDAY there are guys who KNOW their chop is better than several ahead of them that have friends votes, and that's the
factiliousness.

fact is we're losing good choppers because of the, as Scion quoted, friend votes... people that make the chops that make us think "how the f*** did he do that", just don't post it more often, or at all, in s0me cases, cause they know there will be a pop user with a crappy chop ahead of them...
