Okay...I got an email from this person who had downloaded some of my brushes, and wanted to know how I had achieved the effect in the image preview (I think Confused ) I sent an email back saying "try using the brush on its own layer" and got an email back saying that the person didn't really "get" what I meant. So I promised to send more detailed instructions for how to do that, which led to me making the following "tutorial," I guess.

I find the idea of telling other people how to do things in Photoshop kind of funny, because I'm still learning it myself... but then I realized that there are all kinds of levels of experience with the program...this tutorial is written with the very new user in mind. But I'd like whatever feedback you guys might want to give, as I plan to pass it on to Zak.

It's kind of lo-res, hopefully you can still see it:

actually, mason, I sent you most of my brushes already Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I mailed out that package with the dust, and put a disc in there with a bunch of my brushes, styles, and patterns. Oh, and some shapes! I must've read your mind in advance. Laughing

Ooo!!! You have a brush to make bowling balls! That's pretty cool. Wink

But in all seriousness. How do you make brushes in the first place? Shocked Question

Goat: they're actually marbles...you can find them here: http://share.studio.adobe.com/axBrowseSubmit.asp?d=553609&dn=Tiffany+Widman

You can make a brush with any selection...I'll usually find something I want to be a brush, select color range for white, then select inverse...that gives me a selection of everything but the white on the image...then go to "edit" and hit "define brush."

As for you, Tofu Laughing Laughing Laughing

I actually sent mason some WTC dust from the 9/11 cleanup, because his family collects sand, etc from different parts of the world. Sheesh! Laughing [/url]
