Hi all,

I just wanted to give a quick shout to everyone. As you might have guessed, my name is Brian, and I live in Washington D.C., where I lay out scientific journals and books.

I decided this sort of thing would be a good thing to participate in, because I spend a lot more time with InDesign and Illustrator than with Photoshop, and when I do use PS, it tends to be the same sort of thing each time. (Namely, for those who care, I upsample low-res images to a publishable resolution, and then chop out the artifacts of that upsampling). So my photoshopping ability has a lot of room to improve before it is where I want it to be.

Because I think that in this line of work, it is absolutely crucial to be able to use your software to its fullest potential, I join PSC.com with the hopes of improving and honing my chopping ability, and ideally, learning functionality of the program that I currently don't know exists. It looks like there's a lot of talent and expertise on this website, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing and learning how you do your work, and hearing your advice and feedback on mine!

Ha! Addictive may be an understatement, but at least it's a more healthy addiction than my many others! After only 2 1/2 chops for this site, I already see an improvement in my abilities...if beer or cigs did that, I'd be a god at something by now!
