A little while back I downloaded a free application for the Mac called Trigger.
Trigger allows you to send fake system alerts to any computer on your network.
You create your own alerts.
I decided to try it out on our secretary.
When she sat down at her computer with a slice of pizza, I had the following pop up on her screen:
"Mac fun fact #345: The average slice of pizza contains more calories than two bags of chocolate chip cookies"
She looked around the office confused by what just happened but didn't say a thing.
Two minutes later she received this message:
"Mac KeyboardSensor has detected grease. Please wash hands and resume. A clean computer is a happy computer"
With a bewildered expression, she wiped her hands and continued.
This went on for days
When she talked about her cats, the computer would spit out "fun facts" about cats.
When she dyed her hair red, she received a "fun fact" about the history of hair dye.
Of course, when she asked anyone about this, they just shrugged and looked at her funny.
After a while she just came to accept the fact that her new operating system was able to hear her, see her, and even feel her.
