Now that May is upon us, just pulling this thread out of the dungeon... is this NYC get together thing still on for 5/20?

Yeah, what EJH said. Happy to report that my first outing after getting better was, in fact, Burrito Loco last weekend. I had the Burrito Rancho and James had the Burrito Loco, and we shared. It was delicious! We also had mango margaritas...I hadn't drunk anything in a while, so I was a cheap date and only got through two of them.

It was busy! There were lots of people trying to get tables. Any chance we can get a real count as to who is coming and who is not? It might not be the worst idea to get a reservation, but we'll need a solid number, and they won't seat the party until the entire party arrives.

Takers? FYI, I looked at the prices pretty carefully: entrees are about $12-18, very reasonable for Manhattan. The most expensive entree was a steak for $20, I think. The drinks are where they get you, $8 each for the margaritas. Our bill was $75, but $40 of it was drinks.

If it's too much, there's a Gray's Papaya a couple of doors down, and they have a "recession special" for $2.30, I think. Two dogs and a small drink. Ketchup and mustid are free, but you'll have to stand to eat.

And you people thought you missed me. Heh.

mmmm......mango margarita......

Count me in Smile

From what people said when this thread started, sounds like 8:00 would be a good time. I'm pretty flexible though.

I dunno, Tiff... at this rate, it might just be you and I getting drunk together. Laughing

more tequila for us! But isn't db coming up for a marathon or something? I see a lot of little balloons on the PSC user map in our area...NOONE is going to come give companionship to two drunken ladies?

What a bunch of clowns!

I should be able to make it. I have a 2:00 softball game out in Suffolk, I should be home by 5:30 and then I have to shower and change and hopefully I'll catch the 6:11 train out of Long Beach which gets me to Manhattan at 7:05 and I'll make it there by 8:00 easily, but if I don't catch that train, the next one isn't until 7:11 which gets me to Penn Station at 8:05 and I'd probably get to the restaurant around 8:30. Hopefully you lushes haven't finished all the tequila in the place by then Laughing

nubie? (you started this!)
dbbowling?
j58...?
anyone else?

Let's get a head count so we can determine if dinner reservations are necessary... Queen, I nominate you to be in charge of that Razz

Ooooh, it's getting so close! I thought for sure db was coming up for some kind of race. Although I think we might have to just meet outside at a given time or something. Don't know how likely we are to actually get a concrete number for a reservation...and anyway I don't even know if they take reservations.

I do know that they make the guacamole right at the table...zoinks this is going to be fun.
